The cablecar was operating and took us up another 1000+ meters from the rest of the national park to 3500 m and just below the peak. Since you need a permit to walk up the last 200 meters, we just walked around the peak a little. And this was quite a new experience: having never been that high up, walking at this altitude was pretty exhausting.
