The day in-between was spent visiting Teide National Park. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go up El Teide itself – Spain’s highest mountain with approx. 3700m above sea level – because it was too windy and the cablecar wasn’t operating. But we nevertheless enjoyed the volcanic landscape of the national park, which is still at around 2000m altitude.&lt;/p&gt;
