We’re very happy for them! They are such a nice couple. And we had a fantastic time on their wedding day.

We met in New Zealand a little more than 3 years ago, when they were travelling the country. They were our first couch-surfing guests and we had a great weekend together. We kept in touch ever since.

204/365: We got a room with a view in our hotel in Woolacombe, where the wedding takes place.

Then we drove Elfi to Gatwick airport to catch her flight back home, and we made our way over to Devon to meet up with James & Emily, whose wedding we’re going to attend on Friday.

And, to our surprise, the highway goes straight past Stonehenge, and so I quickly snapped this photo.

On this beautiful day, we visited Greenwich – where we enjoyed a delicious Cream Tea – took a ferry all the way to the London Eye (which we didn’t go onto, because it – and the whole area – was ridiculously full of people), walked across Westminster bridge to Big Ben, went inside Westminster Abbey, had a break at the café pictured here, went across Trafalgar Square to Piccadilly Circus and finished the day with dinner at a Malaysian restaurant in Chinatown.

198/365: On Friday afternoon we moved from Rob’s houseboat to our Airbnb.  In the evening, we picked up Nicole’s mum from Gatwick airport. After arriving back in London after an 1:15-hour drive, we thought we go explore the nearby Wapping-neighbourhood to walk along the Thames and find something for a late dinner. But that didn’t really pan out. It’s a mostly residential area, with not that many inviting restaurants that still served food around 10pm – and it also only had a very short path along the Thames.

So this photo shows a part of the very quiet Wapping neighbourhood.

We walked a loop back to our accommodation where we eventually found a little take-away where we got some fish & chips.

And the boat is great. Not unlike living in a camper van. And we already got to do lots of boat stuff. Immediately after we arrived yesterday, we got to drive the boat to a different spot within London. We went through four locks, cooked dinner on the boat and ate it at a temporary parking place under a bridge. Then after mooring the boat at it’s new spot, we quickly fell asleep in the cabin.
