One of my favourite Dream Theater songs. Someone please explain the time signatures to me.

185/365: Yesterday was another very hot day. And we spend most of the day at home, avoiding the sun and its heat. But as it was nearing sundown and a light breeze came on, we headed over to Gingerboy for a late dinner on their terrace.

Once again, we had fantastic noodles. And the desert – coconut ice-cream on caramelised pineapple and ginger – was the highlight for me.

After dinner, we enjoyed a few more drinks and enjoyed the pleasant evening temperatures.

184/365: Arkham Horror.

It was probably one of the hottest days of the year. But the five of us were like: “Fuck it! We play a board game inside!”. And at least there was a fan. Because outside wasn’t any cooler on this Friday night.

We decided to play – and “learn”, as was the case for three of us – Arkham Horror: an adventure role-play game in which you team up as a group of investigators to fight alien monsters that invade the town Arkham through gates from other worlds. All very Lovecraft-ian.

And monsters were fought, parallel worlds were entered, survived and returned from, gates were being closed, and magic spells were being cast. And I think we weren’t that bad at all. But in the end, it was all of no avail: the Ancient One – in this case: Cthulhu – devoured all of us.

Hail the fan!
