Damn! What a song (and video, too)!
Really getting into this band!
Damn! What a song (and video, too)!
Really getting into this band!
Time for some music again: been listening to “Those Once Loyal” quite often recently. Best Bolt Thrower album. And “Salvo” might be my favourite track.
Man, that bass sound! 🤘
Psycroptic’s “As The Kingdom Drowns” is on heavy rotation right now. I always enjoyed that dude’s guitar playing!
While I’m at recommending music: Revocation is another band I’ve been listening to a lot recently. Really into their “Teratogensis” EP!
A new track from the upcoming The Raconteurs album. Digging it!
And I also bought tickets for both of us for to see them in Cologne in May. So we finally get to see Jack White live. Very much looking forward to this one, too!
Today I purchased Tickets for Machine Head’s “Burn My Eyes” 25th Anniversary Tour in October. “Burn my Eyes” was one of the major influencial albums of my teenage years. And it’s still one of my favourite albums today.
Machine Head always put up a great show, and this one looks like it’s going to be extra special. Very much looking forward to this!
Another album I’m currently very much into, is the previous Soen album “Lykaia”. Not only does it feature great songs and musicianship, I also very much dig the sound of this record. A very enjoyable listen.
Still in a progressive mood, Tesseract’s “Sonder” album gets a lot of play currently.
I recreated the initial beat of Meshuggah’s “Bleed” on Heydon’s great online drum machine.
I’m in progressive mood right now when it comes to music. One album on heavy rotation right now is the latest – now almost 13 years old – Tool: “10000 days”. 75 minutes pure awesomeness!
I can’t get enough of Meshuggah at the moment. And in particular this song. Such a mean groove!
In good Meshuggah fashion, it’s polymetered: The first riff for example is in 17/8 (that’s how I count it anyway), and both guitars/bass and drums play it like this initially. But after the first 8 bars (around the 26 second mark, after 2 rounds of that riff), the drummer’s hands start playing 4/4 time while his feet and the guitars stay in 17/8. From then on, the drumming stays that way. Which means you can easily nod your head all the way through, even though that might not be immediately obvious.
There’s a lot more going on throughout the whole song (which I haven’t completely analysed like this), and it’s so fun to listen to that I keep coming back over and over again.
Enjoying this latest Katatonia very much!
Oh man, Nick Menza died a few days ago. He was Megadeth’s drummer in their best era. Here’s “Holy Wars” to pay tribute.
New Kvelertak! 🤘🏻
I don’t know what my fucking first dog’s name was! What the fuck’s the matter with you? I just want my password!
