I just came across this photo in an old draft post. Seen on El Teide, Tenerife. October 2014.
Does this count as writing? Hardly. But it has to do for today.

Seen on El Teide, Tenerife.
On our last day on the Canary Islands, we took the early morning ferry from El Hierro to Tenerife, from where our plane departed in the early evening of that day.
Since it was perfect weather that day, we seized the opportunity to go up the Pico del Teide. The cablecar was operating and took us up another 1000+ meters from the rest of the national park to 3500 m and just below the peak. Since you need a permit to walk up the last 200 meters, we just walked around the peak a little. And this was quite a new experience: having never been that high up, walking at this altitude was pretty exhausting. My heart rate went up quite quickly after doing a few steps, especially uphill.
