He had an open day and a couple of people came along to see where and how he works and try out his Devil’s Choice guitars and basses.

286/365: Opeth live at Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal.
Fantastic concert at a great atmospheric venue. Epic!
(I was still feeling sick that day, but it was much better: no fever any more. But a seated concert like this was still most welcome.)

And well, at least Andre spent the night there. I got sick that evening/night (nausea, diarrhoea, fever) and frequently had to get out of my sleeping bag. Which was way too cold. Luckily, the bathroom/toilet was in the adjacent restaurant. And there was also a small lobby, where it was warm. So, I spent most of the night there. Mostly not sleeping.

The next morning I only felt a little better, but not good enough for a whole day of walking with a heavy backpack. So unfortunately we had to cancel the last day of hiking. We took a taxi instead. And then it was still a few hours to drive back home.

And man, what a day. Much too long for my taste. And then barely any water along the way.

We arrived at the next campground completely exhausted just before sunset.

On the second day, we walked more than 20km before we arrived at the camp in the late afternoon.

Andre and I were hiking the Soonwaldsteig. This was our camp the first night. After travelling by train from Bingen to Kirn, we hiked 15+ km to get here. The sun was just setting, we had pitched our tents. And luckily you could buy some beer. :-)

From front to back: 2 spare beers, filter water bottle, my tent, Andre, Schmidtburg.
