Off to New Zealand

We’re very excited to be visiting New Zealand for the next 6 weeks. It’ll be a mix of work and travel. And I will finally get to meet the Rankers crew.

If you’d like to follow our locations, I’ve just added a little feature to my homepage, where you can see our latest location update. But I will make a few posts here, too, I’m sure.

Yihaa! Touch down in Auckland, New Zealand. Feels great being back. And it also still feels very familiar. We love to here the NZ accent all over the place again. :-) And summer feels great, too!

This photo was taken yesterday afternoon, going out for a drink and dinner. We didn’t want to go to bed too early. Although that was much needed. After approx. 48 hours without a bed, we pretty much passed out immediately after we returned to our accommodation at around 8:30pm.

Now it’s the next morning and we slept really well!

(Sorry for the interruption to all these black and white film photos. ;-) )

Dinner at Depot

danielpietzsch:

It’s been the second time we visited this lovely restaurant right in the centre of Auckland.

This time we had our seats right next to the kitchen. It was absolutely fascinating to watch all the food getting made. And of course it tasted delicious.

Oh, nice! Stumbled across this old post of mine. This will be our plan for tonight.

And now, a few more current photos from New Zealand: at the campground in Raetihi, preparing for the Whanganui Journey – a three-day canoe trip – and us on the river in our canoe.

At “The Church” – our accommodation while we were in Gisborne. That was also where we had our Rankers meetings.

It was great to finally meet (part of) the Rankers crew in real life and be able to chat for extended periods of time. I’ve been working with them for almost 3 years now, and it was an awesome week we spent with them!

And we felt very much at home in this charming house right by Wainui beach.

Misty Wainui Beach.
I was really positively surprised by this one. It looks like a painting.
The recipe: the Lomo Lubitel, a roll of Portra 400, a misty and drizzly Wainui beach, and a lens I couldn’t keep dry.
